Welcome to Cogswell Travel! We are a small travel agency based in the Washington, DC area.

The agency is named after Mason Cogswell and his daughter Alice. Because Alice was deaf, Mason Cogswell hired Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet to travel to Europe and learn about their methods for teaching deaf children. When Gallaudet returned, he brought with him a deaf Frenchman by the name of Laurent Clerc. These two men founded the first school for the deaf in the United States, which is still in operation today.

Cogswell Travel is affiliated with A Small World Travel, a member of NACTA and ASTA.
